Child Protective Ordinance
In November 1996, the City of San Mateo adopted an ordinance to help protect children enrolled in non-profit programs.
The Neighborhood Improvement & Housing Division manages a number of programs designed to maintain the quality of neighborhoods and build new affordable housing through local and federal funds.
Police Activities League
The San Mateo Police Activities League (SMPAL) was formed in 1997 and became a 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization with a mission to provide a variety of supervised recreational, social and educational activities that successfully link police officers with San Mateo youth and the broader community.
