Legislative Positions

It is the policy of the City Council that the Council be involved in the development of the City’s position on significant pending federal and state legislation that may directly impact the City of San Mateo. The offices of Mayor and Deputy Mayor are the Council’s Legislative Committee.

The City of San Mateo Legislative Platform guides the City’s advocacy on state legislation and budget issues, and outlines key City priorities and policy positions.

Below is a list of legislative proposals and statewide propositions that have been formally approved by the City Council. Information on propositions from past elections can be found on the Secretary of State's website.
