National Night Out - August 5, 2025

Celebrate the Spirit of National Night Out with Us! 

If you are not going to a registered block party, please join us at the Martin Luther King Jr Center from 5:30 - 8:00 pm for music, McGruff the Crime Dog, resources, raffles, goodies, and more.  

Strengthen your community by knowing your neighbors, watching out for each other, and working together for a safe community.  This event is open to all residents and blocks in the City of San Mateo.

     How to Register:

National Night Out is an annual nationwide event designed to:

  • Raise crime prevention awareness;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and unity;
  • Develop partnerships between the City and the community on the “block level.”

Be a part of strengthening your community by knowing your neighbors, watching out for each other, and working together for a safe community!

Is Your Neighborhood Watch block registered?


If your block is a neighborhood watch block and is registered to participate in this year's National Night Out, we will send a police representative to visit your event.

If your block is not currently part of neighborhood watch, this is a great opportunity to get your neighbors interested in joining this valuable crime prevention program.
