The City of San Mateo is committed to being a climate leader and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in our community. The development and adoption of amendments to the green building code, also known as “reach codes” can help reduce emissions. The City of San Mateo is exploring the following reach codes for the 2025 Code Cycle (2025-2027).

    • At this meeting, staff will request City Council direction on which reach code options, if any, to proceed with ordinance development.
