Anaiya Gupta and Shyla Gupta, Sculpture
January 6, 2026 - February 19, 2026

This body of work has been shaped by two pairs of hands, showing what’s possible when combining forces. Anaiya Gupta and Shyla Gupta create art from mud, combining clay with their ideas and techniques. They take inspiration from dream-created alternate versions of reality. All the pieces are hand-built layered coils smoothed on top of each other or an assembly of carefully cut slabs. Using hands, underglazes, glazes, metal tools, and other textures, they transform the clay, creating the illusion that it is some other material: wood, leather, glass, stone, iguana skin. But most importantly, their art has a purpose, and every piece has a function.
