The Parks & Recreation Department has 14 facilities with 21 ballfields.  In addition to this, we have over a dozen tennis courts, 4 Bocce Ball Courts, and several outdoor basketball courts.  The City also shares our Community Gymnasium with San Mateo High School.

How to Reserve a Ballfield/Athletic Facility

If you are interested in obtaining a permit for one of our ballfields, please review the City of San Mateo Athletic Field Use and Allocation Policy.  For one time usage, or if you are interested in renting any of our courts (basketball, tennis, or bocce) a potential permittee will only need to fill out page 20 of the policy. 

Submit Your Completed Application Using One of the Following Methods:

• Email:  Complete all necessary forms and email it to: parksandrecreation@cityofsanmateo.org 
• Drop-Off:  Bring all necessary forms to the Outdoor Facility Reservation Office during office hours (Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm) located at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center (725 Monte Diablo Ave., San Mateo, CA 94403)
