1 Carey School Lane Zoning Reclassification

The project proposes a Zoning Reclassification from R1-B (One Family Dwellings) to R1-B/Q8 (One Family Dwellings, Qualified Overlay District 8) and a Zoning Code Amendment to San Mateo Municipal Code chapter 27.60 Special Districts to implement alternative development standards for the project site to accommodate the construction of a classroom addition that would otherwise exceed the project site’s current maximum permitted floor area ratio. Site Plan and Architectural Review (SPAR) for a 6,006 square-foot, two-story classroom addition and two 960 square-foot, one story temporary relocatable classroom buildings. Special Use Permit (SUP) Modification to increase enrollment from 249 students to 258 students, and employment from 47 full-time staff to 52 full-time staff.

On April 1, 2019, the City Council discussed and finalized the General Plan Vision Statement. The City wishes to thank all who participated to craft a community-led, values-based vision for San Mateo in 2040. 

Now, join one of the most important conversations we can have about San Mateo’s future! It starts with your ideas about how the City should change or stay the same over the next 20 years. Your feedback will help identify what areas of the City should be evaluated for change or preservation. This meeting is the first step in a process to craft and analyze a range of alternative future scenarios.
