In April 2018, the City of San Mateo selected MidPen Housing to redevelop two adjacent lots at 480 E. Fourth Ave. and 400 E. Fifth Ave. – the parking lots off Fourth and Fifth avenues between Railroad and Claremont. MidPen proposes building 164 affordable rental homes for families on one lot and a 699-stall parking garage on the other, which will include 535 public parking spaces. The proposed development will provide affordable homes in a downtown setting and a garage that will more than double existing public parking on the current lots. The proposed development also includes a community-serving space on the ground floor of the parking garage.

Questions about this event or the project can be sent to April Mo at amo@midpen-housing.org.
