City of San Mateo - General Plan Update

General Plan Update

Dear San Mateo Community,

The City of San Mateo is embarking on an update of the General Plan, the primary citywide policy document that will guide conservation, sustainability and growth decisions in the community over the next 20 years.  The General Plan contains goals and policies that regulate urban development, protection of the natural environment and public safety. It reflects the community’s long-term vision and provides the perspective to judge day-to-day decisions by these future goals.

Community input is vital and we encourage everyone in San Mateo to participate in planning for the future of our city.  For more information about the General Plan Update effort including future meetings and to sign up for the project mailing list, please check out the project website StriveSanMateo.org.

There are several methods and opportunities to participate including:

•             Subcommittee meetings,
•             Community workshops,
•             Online surveys,
•             Events
