Fair Housing Virtual Workshop
Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 6-8 p.m.
Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing is an integral part of the City of San Mateo’s Housing Element update that explores what programs and policies we should consider to improve equity in housing amongst all people.
The challenge of providing affordable housing options becomes uniquely complex while considering the needs and priorities of people at the intersection of ethnicity, gender, sex, age, sexual orientation, familial status, and disability. Join us for a discussion on how we can make an affordable housing plan that can serve all of San Mateo while making our approach accessible, equitable, and sustainable.
Register to participate on Zoom.

We want to know who is having the hardest time finding housing and what solutions would work best to address the community’s housing shortage.

Background & Housing Element Updates
The update of the Housing Element 2023-2031 is underway! The plan will include an overview of housing policies and programs as well as identify locations that can accommodate future housing.
We recently posted the Draft Adequate Sites List and Methodology, a tentative list of parcels that have potential for housing development within this coming Housing Element cycle. We also released the Housing Needs Demographics, which includes key data about San Mateo housing and neighborhoods that have been informing our work.
