City of San Mateo - Spring Cleanup

Saturday, March 6, 2021 | 8:00am - 10:00 am

Join the City of San Mateo's Team Up to Clean Up group for a special outdoor event to keep San Mateo litter free and welcoming for all! The Team Up to Clean Up group is meeting at Ryder Park on March 6th to help clean up part of the Bay.

Run for Hope

Provide rent relief to people facing housing insecurity due to COVID. This opportunity is free and everyone is welcome! Join us and spend the day running, walking, or strolling to complete a mile or two towards our goal of providing $150,000 towards rent relief in the Bay Area. This is a virtual run on March 26-28, and Menlo Church is sponsoring every mile! Each mile is $25 to rental assistance (to 3 nonprofits) and we’re helping Samaritan House which is our core agency in San Mateo. Register here.

CASA Coach

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children is seeking volunteers to become CASA Coaches. Consider becoming a CASA volunteer because youth in foster care need their CASA volunteers more than ever. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering with CASA, please sign up for a CASA orientation. Dates are listed below.

HIP Housing Seeking Volunteers

Looking for a way to get involved in your community? Volunteer at HIP Housing! Human Investment Project Housing (HIP Housing) is a non-profit organization based in San Mateo County that specializes in affordable and creative housing solutions. Each year, HIP Housing helps 1,400 people find housing or keep their homes through our Home Sharing, Self Sufficiency, and Property Development Programs. We could use your help with program outreach, database and email list clean-up, on-call fundraising support, and more. Sustainability and Infrastructure Commissioner Needed

Interested in influencing your community? Consider becoming a Sustainability and Infrastructure Commissioner for the City of San Mateo.

The Commission Members meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at  7:00 p.m. It is the duty of this Commission, as an advisory body to the City Council, to advise on policies and programs related to environmental sustainability, transportation and infrastructure.                                     
The Boards and Commission Application can be completed online, mailed upon request by emailing clerk@cityofsanmateo.org or phoning (650) 522-7040.
