Welcome to this month's Volunteer Newsletter! This edition highlights one-day, seasonal, and ongoing volunteer opportunities. One-day Opportunities

Blood Drives

The San Mateo Chamber of Commerce, San Mateo Marriott, and City of San Mateo are teaming up with Vitalant to save lives this fall, and you’re invited to a part of these two special events. In just one blood donation, you can save up to 3 lives! Every 3 seconds someone in America needs blood, and 100% of the blood supply comes from donors like you.

The Marriott is hosting a blood drive on Saturday, November 7^th from 10:00am – 2:45pm at 1770 S. Amphlett Blvd in San Mateo. Schedule an appointment today!

The City of San Mateo is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, December 1^st from 12:00pm – 5:00pm at Beresford Park (2720 Alameda de las Pulgas). Schedule an appointment today!

Seasonal Opportunity

Zoom Cohost needed for Fitness Classes

Would you like to volunteer as a co-host on a Zoom live-stream Dance & Fitness class? We have over 60+ classes available for our Fall Season that need your support. By volunteering, you can participate in the class for FREE. Please join us, it’s FUN! Some of the classes are listed below and easy training available:

Low Impact
Cardio/Strength & Stretch
Chair Yoga
Pilates
And more!!

Ongoing Opportunities

Volunteer as a City Commission Member

Are you passionate about wanting to influence the future of your community? If so, please consider applying to participate in a City Commission. We have opportunities available in the following commissions:

Community Relations Commission

Food Distribution with Second Harvest

Are you interested in supporting our community by distributing food to those in need? If so, please consider volunteering with Second Harvest. They are experiencing a shortage in volunteers and need others to help to maintain the food distribution program. If you are interested, please check out their volunteer calendar to sign up for a shift!
