For the first time in 36 years, our annual Bayfront Cleanup event is canceled, but you can still act to keep your community litter free. To get started, register online and download the Clean Swell App. After registering in the app and you start collecting litter, please identify your group as the “San Mateo Sea Lions” so all San Mateo residents can join in on the California Coastal Cleanup 2020. The app will easily record all the litter you collect from your neighborhood, which is added to the statewide database. Share your own efforts to social media using the “Protect Your Happy Place” filter on Instagram and Facebook to see how your community is participating. Don’t forget to use the hashtags #coastalcleanupday #SanMateoCA and #protectyourhappyplace for a chance to win free pizza, ice cream, cookies, and more from San Mateo small businesses!
