We’re pleased to announce the upcoming opening of Montara, a new affordable housing development in the Bay Meadows neighborhood of San Mateo. The property is nearing completion and applications are now open!
 
This brand new apartment building will offer 67 units including 32 one-bedroom, 18 two-bedroom, and 17 three-bedroom apartments. Fifty of the units are filled by referrals from the Housing Authority of County of San Mateo and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
 
Some units may include special features for people with mobility, hearing, and/or visual impairments. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply; we do not discriminate on the basis of disability.
 
Project Based Units
The Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo is also accepting applications for 34 Project-Based-subsidized units through a separate application process. Preference is given to San Mateo County residents. If you wish to apply for these units, visit mysmchousing.com or contact csteam@smchousing.org for more information. The application period for the PB units is from July 1 through July 31, 2020. 

Non-Project Based Units
Bridge Housing is accepting pre-applications for Montara by mail and email for 17 non-PB units. Pre-applications for these units are accepted from July 1 through 5 p.m. July 17, 2020. Montara offers a local preference for households where at least one member lives/works in the City of San Mateo. Starting July 1, pre-applications and more information will be available online at smc.housingbayarea.org/. After the application period for these units, all pre-applications will be randomly ordered. Due to the high level of interest for Montara, pre-applications with lottery numbers 1 to 400 will continue to the next stage in the process. If your pre-application receives a lottery number above 400 you will be notified and your pre-application will not be processed.
 
Please note, the rest of this email applies only for the 17 non-PB units.
