One-Day Volunteer Opportunity

Team Up to Clean Up:
Are you interested in getting a group together to help our City be litter-free? If so, we have the perfect opportunity. City staff will first meet with you to explore the possibilities of working together to keep our communities clean and safe. We will support your project by providing your team with safety gloves & vests, cleanup bags, cleaning supplies, and arrange for the free pickup of all the trash at the end of your event. Interested? Seasonal Opportunity

PAL Jr. Giants Baseball Coach:

Use your talents and passion for baseball to make a difference in San Mateo by coaching community kids in the 2020 Junior Giants Baseball League. The season doesn’t begin until June, but we want to secure coaches before the season begins. If you are interested, please visit our Citywide Volunteer Online Application and apply.

Ongoing Opportunity

Adopt-A-Drain program:

Natural debris, including leaves, fertilizer, and pet waste, turns into pollution once it hits the water. The rain washes anything that’s on streets and paved surfaces down storm drains and into the bay. Adopt-A-Drain to help keep our water clean and to prevent flooding on the streets! Ready to sign up? Community Events

General Plan Open House sessions:

Let’s make plans for our City’s future. San Mateo is hosting four General Plan Open Houses: March 3rd, 7th, 9th, and 12th. Please invite your friends and family to attend! For more information, please check out our website.

San Mateo Arboretum Society:

Help beautify San Mateo Central Park Arboretum’s perennial gardens. Training is FREE on Saturday, March 21, 9:45am-noon. Register: (650) 579-0536 x3 or
