COVID-19 Stay Home Order Ends, San Mateo Returns to Purple Tier

State health officials ended the Stay at Home Order effective Monday, Jan. 25 as ICU capacity increased. San Mateo County is now in the purple tier, allowing more businesses to reopen - including outdoor dining. Find what's allowed on the state's website.

Minimum Wage Increase - January 1, 2021

Starting on January 1, 2021, the minimum wage for the City of San Mateo will increase to $15.62 per hour. The current minimum wage is $15.38 per hour. The minimum wage is adjusted annually based on the regional Consumer Price Index.
