New Public Meeting Portal Increases Transparency, Access to Video Streaming
The City of San Mateo is excited to announce its new online Public Meeting Portal: www.cityofsanmateo.org/publicmeetings. On this new web page you can watch live streaming of City Council and commission meetings, review meeting agendas as well as reports, and find minutes and videos after the meeting. The new web page also connects you to more viewing options, such as watching meetings on the City’s YouTube channel either streamed live or posted after the meeting. It is mobile responsive and automatically resizes for convenient viewing on cell phones or tablets. Another new feature of the portal is that it enables the public to view each council member’s voting record online going forward.
“This new solution, which is cleaner and more streamlined than what we had before, reflects the City’s commitment to transparency in the decision-making process of the community’s elected and appointed officials,” said City Clerk Patrice Olds. The new web page launched on May 1, 2019 for City Council meetings and is being rolled out this month for all the City’s boards and commissions meetings. Please direct any questions about the new Public Meeting Portal to the City Clerk’s Office at (650) 522-7040 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
