Community Needs Assessment - Dec. 1 Meeting

Community Needs Assessment & Community Development Block Grant


We're updating our 5-year plan for how to use federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in the City of San Mateo. Share your input on how we should use these funds to support a wide range of community development needs. 
 
The Community Needs Assessment is a vital part of the City’s engagement with the community and stakeholders to identify priority programs and projects in the areas of North Central and North Shoreview neighborhoods. Many of these programs and projects are through the CDBG program, which is funded through the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Community input will help development of the City's Consolidated Plan for the 2023-28 Program Years, and the needs identified

Public Meeting - December 1

The Community Relations Commission will hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. to discuss development of the 2023-2028  CDBG Consolidated Plan and to announce the availability of the next year’s CDBG Community Funding RFP.
 
You can join the meeting in person at City Hall, Conference Room C, 330 W. 20th Ave., or via Zoom. More information will be posted on the City's Public Meeting Portal.

Online Survey

San Mateo County residents and individuals working in the field of housing and community development, lending, social services, fair housing, and advocacy are invited to participate in the Consolidated Plan Survey to help inform housing and community development needs like parks and sidewalks. Public meetings in English and Spanish are also being held across the Peninsula.
