Learn more about the Adopt-A-Drain program
Participate in our Adopt-A-Drain program by taking an active role in improving your neighborhood and keeping our bay clean and free of debris.
Why Adopt-A-Drain?
Everyone knows trash is no good for our streets or our bay, but many of us are unaware of the ways we contribute to the pollution. Natural debris - including leaves, grass clippings, fertilizer, and pet waste - turns into pollution once it hits the water. The rain washes anything that’s on streets and paved surfaces down storm drains and into the bay. Adopt-A-Drain to help keep our water clean and to prevent flooding on the streets!
Participating is as easy as 1-2-3.
Claim your drain, pick up city-provided supplies, and clean your drain(s). Find drains to adopt near your home or work and encourage your neighbors, friends, and family to help. A little volunteer effort goes a long way in helping protect our waterways and the environment. To learn more please visit the Adopt-A-Drain web page.
