Permaculture Design: Regenerate Your Landscape

Saturday, April 20, 2019

Care for the earth, care for the people, and return the surplus! Permaculture works with nature instead of against it—saving energy, minimizing waste, and lowering environmental impact. Local permaculture expert Nicholas Hardy will discuss how to holistically restore and regenerate the degraded ecology of our local landscapes and watersheds and will talk about soil, vegetation and water harvesting strategies. You’ll have a better understanding of a diversified and balanced garden design and management practices to apply to your own garden! **Oak Room, First Floor**

About the speaker: Nicholas Hardy has spent the last 10 plus years developing his Permaculture/Regenerative Agriculture tool kit. Immersing himself in nature & observing the patterns have informed his approach to designs. His expertise is in water system designs(passive & active water harvesting), unusual edible plants in food forest design, livestock integration to create a more holistic system, & the soil food web. He is the Project Manager of Circlefoot Permaculture, a local design & install company, and has advanced expertise in solar system designs.

This event is part of the San Mateo Public Library and City of San Mateo Earth Day series. All events are free but registration is required so that we can plan accordingly.
