Fair Housing Assessment


The City of San Mateo joined the countywide collaborative led by County of San Mateo to prepare a Fair Housing Assessment in 2017.  This effort included community outreach, collection  and analysis demographics and local data, and the development of priorities and objectives to assess fair housing needs, goals and strategies. 
 

Minor Housing Modifications


The City of San Mateo, using CDBG funds, provides grants to non-profit service agencies for provision of  Minor Home Repairs to income qualified homeowners. The program offers home repairs to improve health and safety, housing accessibility modifications, and energy efficiency retrofit measures to income qualified individuals.
 
Minor Home Repair focused on: providing independence for individuals with disabilities and mobility issues. Visit Center for Independence of Individuals with Disabilities or call (650) 645-1780 to find out more about their programs and how you may qualify. Services offered include: Grab Bars, Railings, Wheel Chair Ramps, Hand Held Showers, Shower Bench, Toilet Safety Frame, and Bed Rails.
