Public Works is reconstructing Rand Street from Shoreview Avenue to Dakota Avenue, a Measure S project.
Scope of Work:
This project consists of reconstruction of the pavement section, overlay of five inches of new asphalt concrete pavement, the repair of concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveway approaches to maintain stormwater surface runoff along the street.
"Street Reconstruction" generally includes the removal of all existing asphalt surfacing, excavation of the road subgrade materials, and utility relocation work as necessary. The road is re-built from the bottom up, with new aggregate base and new asphalt concrete pavement.

The contract for the reconstruction work was awarded by City Council on August 20, 2018. A public outreach meeting was held at City Hall on September 5, 2018 to discuss construction impacts. Work began October 2018.
