In April 2014, the San Mateo City Council adopted the Downtown Parking Management Plan. The plan was developed to identify strategies that will better manage Downtown parking and create a system that can better meet the needs of Downtown customers and businesses.
On July 1st 2015, the City of San Mateo will launch the first phase of the Downtown Parking Management Plan. The first phase includes the creation of two parking zones, the core and the perimeter, as well as new pricing and time limits that better meet overall parking demand, encourages turnover in the Downtown core, and provides long-term, all-day parking in the periphery.
More information about the Downtown Parking Management Plan is provided in the links below. If you have questions about parking in Downtown San Mateo or the Parking Management Plan, please contact Vivian Ng, Downtown Parking.
