Transportation and Commuting
San Mateo business owners and their employees can save money, energy and stress while finding alternative ways to get to work by taking advantage of these transportation and commuting resources.
SamTrans provides bus service throughout San Mateo County and into parts of San Francisco and Palo Alto. For persons with disabilities who are unable to ride SamTrans, the San Mateo County Transit District also offers Redi-Wheels paratransit service.
Caltrain provides rail service between San Francisco and San Jose (and weekday commute-hour service to Gilroy) with three convenient stops in San Mateo:

The Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance is dedicated to addressing the challenges involved in getting to and from work in San Mateo County. Their goal is to help people find ways to get to work that are faster, cheaper, and/or easier through commuter information, employer programs, and city transportation demand management partnerships.
For bicyclists, the free City of San Mateo Bike Map provides information on how to commute to work, including featured routes, safety information, and using bicycles in conjunction with local public transportation.
