The Bay Area is known for its great weather - not too cold in the winter, not too hot in the summer.  However, every once in a while the temperatures rise well above normal and it can get pretty hot out there!

What is Extreme Heat?

Heat Storm: Generally, heat storms occur when temperatures exceed 100°F over a large area for 3 days in a row.

Heat Wave: More than 48 hours of high heat (90°F or higher) and high humidity (800% relative humidity or higher) are expected.
