  1. Exhibit: Ceramics by Marina Smelik

    September 3, 2017 - October 28, 2017 @ Display Case, 2nd Floor

The typical expectation of ceramic pieces is to be strong, monolithic, and tightly interconnected with very few openings. However, it is possible to create airy scaffolding-like structures, and the Weightless Ceramics exhibition provides a glimpse of it. Artist Marina Smelik has created a collection of work that is made from Paperclay, a clay mixed with cellulose fibers. This material allows for work that is light, delicate, almost weightless.

  2. Exhibit: Paintings by Mary Adam

    September 3, 2017 - October 30, 2017 @ Art Gallery, 1st Floor

Mary Adam is a San Mateo artist who works in many artistic mediums, including photography, painting, printmaking, and encaustic. This exhibit features a collection of her paintings. In her own words, "I've always looked closely at all things around me. And the more I've cropped my gaze, the closer I've come to feeling the inner rhythm of those objects. My work can be organic, chaotic, orderly, unpredictable, tangled, and harmonic. Whatever the medium, my goal is to hopefully express that rhythm for all to hear."
