    July 5, 2017 - August 31, 2017 @ Art Gallery, 1st Floor

Mona L. Safai describes her artwork style as Abstract Minimalist. She uses color as a language to capture emotions in the experience of the mind’s imagination and spirit. Every piece symbolizes the beginning of one’s journey into our world. She thinks of her artwork as stories, waiting for the characters to reveal their colors to begin speculation, awareness, and eventually freedom. Through color and texture, she gives her viewers an emotional experience into a world of their making, not one made for them.

Michael Dickinson, works from his studio in Marin County where he fabricates primarily hollow form art and sculpture using borosilicate glass flameworking techniques. His work has been inspired by the growing contemporary glass and STEAM movements of the California art scene, as he incorporates gold and silver fume implosions into a unique expression of chemical reactions within his glass. Drawing from the fluid movements in nature, he continues to experiment with bringing that quality, from a molten state, to a solid formation of artistic articulation.
