    The San Mateo community is invited to attend either of two information sessions to learn about the Clean Water Program and proposed sewer rate increases required to fund much-needed infrastructure improvements. The meeting will start promptly at 6:30 with a formal presentation and time for questions, followed by an open house with information stations.

  3. Tween STEAM Afternoon

    March 30, 2017, 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

    Tweens: Come to our STEAM workshop on Thursday, March 30th at 3:30 pm in the Main Library's Oak Room. We will make designs you color come to life using Quiver for Fun.   1. Exhibit: Jane Austen Society of North America

    March 4, 2017 - April 29, 2017, All Day @ 2nd Floor Display Case

    The Jane Austen Society of North America is dedicated to the enjoyment and appreciation of Jane Austen and her writing. The Northern California chapter presents a display titled, “The mode in hats and headdresses during the lifetime of Jane Austen + 16 years. 1775-1833.” The display features caps, turbans and hats on heads with period appropriate paper hairdos. Each hat is presented and described along with its inspiration, which may include a period fashion plate, portrait or extant hat.

    March 7, 2017 - March 30, 2017, All Day @ Art Gallery, 1st Floor

    Painting since she was 3, Ellen Silva sees art as a way to create joy and hope in the world and to connect with herself and her community. She creates vibrant nature-inspired art on recycled fence boards, wood, and canvas. In addition to fine art, she paints residential and commercial murals. She is an artist in residence at many Bay Area schools and Art Specialist for the Cabrillo School District (HMB). She lives on the coast in El Granada.
