  1. Exhibit: Jane Austen Society of North America

    March 4 - April 29 @ 2nd Floor Display Case

    The Jane Austen Society of North America is dedicated to the enjoyment and appreciation of Jane Austen and her writing. The Northern California chapter presents a display titled, “The mode in hats and headdresses during the lifetime of Jane Austen + 16 years. 1775-1833.” The display features caps, turbans and hats on heads with period appropriate paper hairdos. Each hat is presented and described along with its inspiration, which may include a period fashion plate, portrait or extant hat.

  2. Exhibit: Paintings by Ellen Silva

    March 7 - March 30 @ Art Gallery, 1st Floor

    Painting since she was 3, Ellen Silva sees art as a way to create joy and hope in the world and to connect with herself and her community. She creates vibrant nature-inspired art on recycled fence boards, wood, and canvas. In addition to fine art, she paints residential and commercial murals. She is an artist in residence at many Bay Area schools and Art Specialist for the Cabrillo School District (HMB). She lives on the coast in El Granada.

    This is the 8 hour course not the refresher. By taking this driver safety course you'll learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. You'll learn how you can manage common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. Fee includes the course workbook, California DMV handbook, and upon completion of the class, a DMV certificate which is valid for three years.
