The Department of Community Development (CDD) has broad responsibilities focused on long-range planning, review of applications for new development, maintenance of neighborhoods, code enforcement, and planning.
Five divisions work together to accomplish these goals and all division offices are located at City Hall:
- CDD Administration
- Building Safety
- Code Enforcement
- Neighborhood Improvement and Housing
Plan check services are available Monday - Friday from 9:30am - 11:30am at building counter.
- Monday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Tuesday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Thursday*: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
*Counter is closed on Thursdays from 8:00am-9:00am.
The Public Counter is closed from 4:00pm - 5:00pm Monday through Friday except for resubmittals and information. Transactions involving payments will not be processed.
Planners are available at the counter during the following business hours or you may phone the Planner on duty at (650) 522-7212. * The Planning Counter is closed on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm for staff meeting.
NOTE: The Public Service Counter is closed from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday except for resubmittals and information requests. Submittals of new planning applications and requests for neighborhood mailing labels will not be processed during this hour.
