The Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial management of the City. The Department's core function is to maintain a strong and secure financial position for the city by providing comprehensive financial and analytical services to the City Council, City management, staff and the public.

The recent Public Notice of Unclaimed Funds lists funds which are unclaimed by the listed owners and held by the City of San Mateo. If you have a claim against these funds, please contact the City of San Mateo City Treasurer, 330 West 20th Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94403, phone (650) 522-7100. Proper proof of claim must be provided before funds will be released.

Funds not claimed by August 1, 2017 become the property of the City of San Mateo. This notice and its contents are in accordance with California Government Code Section 50050.
