Caltrans (the California Department of Transportation) proposes to modify the State Routes 82 (SR 82/El Camino Real) and SR 92 interchange to reduce traffic congestion, bottlenecks, weaving, and queuing spillback at the interchange on and off ramps. The purpose of this project is to increase performance at the on and off ramps and to improve the operational efficiency of State Route 92.
This would entail widening the existing ramps and reconfiguring the existing interchange from a full cloverleaf to a partial cloverleaf. Pedestrian and bicycle improvements would be included as part of the project.
Caltrans has studied the potential effect of this project on the environment and have concluded that there will not be a significant impact. The report that explains this is called the Initial Study with Proposed Negative Declaration, and is available below.
